The Ozone Reo V7 is a kite dedicated to good, intermediate and beyond riders. It's faster, smoother and has a longer range. This is a kite for riders with waves in mind. The quick turning, precise control and excellent drift performance also work great for freeride foilers who need a kite that remains highly responsive in as much of the wind window as possible. Being built more robustly than the Ultra-X version, the V7's meatier material is better suited to riders who may regularly rig up and launch/land on more abrasive beaches. Smaller sizes may also be preferable for those riding in higher wind conditions when the added durability can add peace of mind, at which point the Ultra-X's lighter materials will have less effect on overall performance. Take the V7 out for a session and one of the first things you'll notice is how much your sense of control of the glider improves. Applying the expertise of paraglider designers, the Reo V7 features an extra stitch in the glider running close to the leading edge, which allows for more faithful 3D shaping. Of course every cut and any addition of additional panels leads to another manufacturing process and can add more weight. The art of design lies in finding this perfect balance. Not only has more profile curvature been added, but also more strength in the high-bearing area thanks to the extra stitching. The Reo V7 features an evolved combination of design features that will help improve your wave riding. Retaining its low-looking three-post platform, the V7 offers super-fast turning response with quick but smooth movements through the window and a handling sweet spot that is now even wider in its wind range. The cleaner, narrower airfoil has also improved the low end, which is now significantly better in the V7. By luffing later, you'll enjoy even greater predictability and clean feedback from the kite through a wider range of winds before the glider is compromised. Of course, excellent drift and overhead flotation remain key features that have been improved. VARIABLE BRIDLE GEOMETRY (VBG): Quick and easy to change with no additional lines to add or remove. These bridle settings extend the kite's range, bringing another level of versatility to this exceptional design. Offshore: A balanced, refined feel with good forward speed, perfect for most conditions and excellent in cross-shore to offshore winds. The kite can stay further from the edge of the wind window when depowered, drifting as you move down the line. The Offshore setting is the node positioned in the middle of the VBG pigtail. Onshore: The kite sits a little further back in the wind window and copes with onshore conditions easily. Increasing bar pressure improves the feel of the kite when a wave pushes with the wind. If you prefer a slightly heavier feel, this might be the setting for you. The Onshore setting is the node at the end of the VBG pigtail. Unhooked riders will feel at home on the Reo, it will fly and float in unison with your movements. Simply trim with the cleat before unclipping, or if you prefer to ride unclipped often, it is recommended to adjust the control system's rear guidelines to the longest position. To customize bar pressure and turning speed to your personal preferences, use the rear line adjustment tabs on the kite. Relaunching is quick and easy: by rotating the bar or using the relaunch balls on the guide lines, the Reo will tip over and take off from the water in an instant. This is especially useful if you are stuck in the impact zone and need to get out of there quickly!
